Fantastic day yesterday with a visit from the Birdman. Alan was brilliant - he engaged a hall full of children and adults with his talk about the beautiful birds he brought. Eagles and owls flying just above the children’s heads was magnificent. The children have used the experience and produced incredible writing and science fact files. Highly recommend - even free to the school as he does photos for the children instead. I even held Alaska!

The children haven't stopped talking about it and how amazing it was to see the birds so closely and to feel them fly above their heads. They have learnt so much from the visit and this really tied in with our science curriculum of life cycles across the school but also provided some really useful teaching points we can use in our next topic of evolution and inheritance. It really was a fantastic morning and one our children will never forget. I couldn't recommend highly enough!

The children have not stopped talking about how fantastic the experience was and were walking out of the school gates ecstatic to tell their parents. The staff commented on how knowledgeable you were about the birds and how interesting your stories were. It is something the pupils will not forget any time soon.

I'd like to say how grateful I am for your patience with some of our pupils with additional needs and for the excitable behaviour amongst the younger pupils.

One last thanks to your beautiful birds too, they were fascinating and so well behaved! The children, and I, have learnt lots today!

I just wanted to say how much the children enjoyed your visit to Holy Trinity last Thursday.  They learnt so much and it was a very memorable experience for them to see your wonderful birds close up, especially to watch how spectacular they are when flying.

Alan gave presentations to our Year 7 and Year 9 students. He brilliantly interweaves factual information about the birds of prey with interesting anecdotes. His entertaining delivery is full of important messages about how humans behave and interact with the environment. The students were totally gripped throughout the presentation, especially when Alaska was flying over their heads! At the end of the presentation, the students had an opportunity to hold one of the birds and it was clearly a special moment for them. A fantastic experience for all of them and one I am sure they will never forget.

Hi Alan,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for visiting our school. The children had a fantastic day and had an experience they will never forget. They learnt so much and we hung on every word you said. I have had lots of feedback from children and staff, all in praise of the birds and your delivery.

I hope you got home safely and look forward to booking you again in a few years

I would highly recommend. He came to our school in Horley he had something for everyone he had jokes for the adults, stories for the children, they learnt a lot about the birds that he brought with him and even the suffering that they face in the wild. The children spoke about it for weeks afterwards and he even returned to retake a picture for a child that was unwell. A truly remarkable day.

Alan has visited my schools over a period of almost 30 years. His visits are always a highlight. He talks with such authority and passion about his birds and the environment and the children are rapt. But the highlight is when he allows the birds to fly – and walk - around the hall! One of those glorious moments children and teachers never forget.
